There are 5 ground school examinations for the NPPL licence and 2 for the Flight Radio Telephony Operators Licence (FRTOL). The ground exams consist of a combination of multi choice and written answers. The allowed time is 2 hours for each exam. There is also an Oral Exam conducted on the aircraft type used for the GST. All exams are conducted at the school.

Together with Air Law, Human Performance and Limitations is one of the prerequisite exams you need to have passed before going solo. The course covers the following:

• Hyperventilation

• Barotrauma

• Hearing

• Sight

• Illness

• Alcohol/Drugs

• Avoiding the Airmiss

• Disorientation

• Stress

• The Senses

 

3. Meteorology

To be passed before Navigation Flight Training or GST if applying for a Restricted Licence.

4. Navigation
