Marcus Furniss
Flight Instructor, Ground Examiner and

Chris started learning to fly at Barton in 1987 and gained his PPL on Light aircraft in 1989. In 1996 his gained his instructor rating on microlights and in 1997 started full time instructing.

In 2003 Chris took over Mainair Flying School.

On his days off Chris likes to relax with his partner Mary, listening to music, jive dancing and walking.
Marcus started flying paragliders in the mid 90’s, moving on to flexwing microlights in 2001. The lure of fixed wing comfort soon followed and since then Marcus has owned and/or flown most fixed wing microlight types.

When not working, Marcus enjoys air touring with friends or flying aerobatics in a 1965 Citabria tail dragger.

Tony

Tony Tomlins
Flight Instructor, Ground Examiner and
BMAA Check Pilot

Tony started flying in 1999 and bought a Jabiru UL450 which he flew around the UK, Ireland and France. Recently Tony sold the Jabiru and bought a Thruster T600N Sprint microlight based near his home on the Isle of Man. He also has a NPPL(A) licence and flys a Robin DR400.

The other passions in Tony's life are motorbikes (well everyone is on the Isle of Man) and playing golf, badly!"
